FAQ

What does “Edition 22” mean?

Edition 22 is a selection of images that we choose to print and sell on line in 250 copies each (plus 5 author’s proof), regardless the size you’ll choose.

Are “Edition 22” prints hand signed?

The verso, or back side, will reveal bits of the image life story:

prints will be stamped with Sir Bob Cornelius Rifo signature and a The Cult of Rifo 3d printed stamp.

The progressive number  001 to #250 will be handwritten on pencil.

With what technique are they printed?

The printing technique is museum quality ink jet, also known as fine art or giclée, where micro droplets of pure pigment are linearly ejected, rather slowly, onto an emulsified archival paper.

The paper we use is Photo Rag Baryta paper, which has an extremely fine surface with the lustre of baryta in the coating that gives the images a deep look and full blacks.  The many shades of gray on the surface are of the highest standard.

What does “museum quality” mean?

When properly produced and protected, an ink jet print is designed to last and mantain its beauty and value in the years to come. Our prints  are museum quality pigment inkjet, which means they last for 100+ years.

Why do we print ink jet?

We found an art / print dimension that has highly satisfied our research.

The touring exhibition acquired by Leica Camera AG was printed in 2020 with that same technique.

In the intent of editing and finding the best recipe to enjoy a physical presence for my Leica files, we have produced thousands of test prints choosing from a variety of paper coatings and inkings.
